PROJECT NAME. MIRROR

Foucault uses the metaphor of the mirror to explain the connection between utopia and heterotopias. The mirror is utopian, because the reflected image is ‘the place where there is nowhere to go’, which is an illusory virtual place that makes people see their visibility. However, the mirror is also a heterotopia because it is a real object. The heterotopia of the mirror is at once absolutely real, related to the real space around them, and absolutely unreal, creating virtual images.
